Molusderm Cutaneous Solution 10ml
Local skin treatment of certain types of warts.
Manufacturer: Pierre Fabre Dermatologie
DescriptionLocal skin treatment of certain types of warts: molluscum contagiosum.
Molluscum contagiosum (molluscum) is a benign and contagious viral skin infection caused by a poxvirus.
The condition causes papules or nodules to appear on the skin. It is common in children, usually between the ages of 2 and 5, but can also affect young people and adults.
IndicationsAvoid scratching or handling the treated lesions until the molluscum has completely disappeared in order to avoid superinfections.
Caution: this product is corrosive and is used as a cauterising agent. Apply the solution only and strictly to the lesions to be treated. Follow carefully the instructions for use.
- Do not apply to children under 2 years of age unless directed by your doctor. Do not apply to thin or sensitive skin areas such as mucous membranes or around the eyes. The substance must not come into contact with the eyes. Do not swallow. Its use on the face is not recommended. Do not use in case of infected molluscum contagiosum. Do not use on irritated or infected skin, reddened skin or skin showing signs of inflammation. Do not use on skin with an abnormal appearance. Not suitable for diabetics as the affected area may not heal as quickly or completely. Do not use during breastfeeding on parts of the body that may come into contact with the infant. Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
- Treatment may cause transient itching, burning and irritation. Hyper- or hypopigmentation may occur after the treated molluscum contagiosum has disappeared. This will disappear spontaneously.
- In case of accidental contact: If the product gets into the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention. If the product comes into contact with healthy skin, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Do not rub your eyes or mucous membranes if the product has come into contact with your fingers. Wash your hands immediately.
- Keep the product out of the reach of children. Avoid contact with clothing or other materials that may be affected by alkali. The bottle should be discarded four weeks after the first opening. Do not dispose of this product down the drain or with household waste. Return it to your pharmacist.
Directions for useApply once a day. Repeat the application every day until redness, irritation or inflammation at the base of the lesion appears, which normally occurs 4 to 6 days later.
At this point, stop the treatment and do not apply it to the area again.
Inflammation is a sign that the molluscum contagiosum will disappear, which will happen within 2 to 5 weeks.
Step 1: application
Unscrew the cap of the bottle and insert the applicator inside. Remove the applicator, now moistened, and apply the product by lightly touching each lesion with the tip of the brush as precisely as possible (avoid touching the healthy skin around the molluscum as this will cause irritation). Be careful! Do not let the liquid come into contact with healthy skin or any other surface (clothing, delicate surfaces, etc.). It is a corrosive substance.
Step 2: Wait 1 or 2 minutes (drying)
Once applied in small touches with the brush, let the product dry for about 1 or 2 minutes. In the case of children, take special care that they do not touch the treated parts during the drying time.
Step 3: Remove (rinse)
After drying, rinse the area with water (using a soaked gauze pad) to remove any remaining product, then wash your hands with plenty of water.
Successive new applications: repeat the previous steps. For subsequent applications, you can keep the product with the applicator screwed on.
