Forté Pharma believes that natural health products, dietary supplements or herbal medicines sold over the counter, are a contemporary solution for healthy living and help us manage the demands of our modern lifestyles. Yet, our diet has changed more in 50 years than in 50 centuries!
From the second half of the 20th century, numerous lifestyle-related changes (working life, eating habits, climate change etc...) have had major consequences for our health and well-being :
- Dietary imbalances and deficiencies. These imbalances are the result of our modern lifestyle which has seen the advent of mass produced food and intensive farming (both do not enable the body to get enough quality and quantity of healthy nutrients on a daily basis)
- (dietary and atmospheric) pollution
- Excesses of stress and nervous tension
The other major consequence directly related to these imbalances is obesity (and prior to that overweight), considered to be a 21st century epidemic : 69% of American adults are overweight or obese, 46% of French people are overweight or obese.

Among natural health products there are :
- Dietary supplements which are a response to nutritional imbalances and offer a supplementation in RDI (recommended daily intake for each individual in terms of fibres, minerals, vitamins, etc..to ensure the best possible functioning of the organism)
- Natural health products that aim for a metabolic optimisation, do not necessarily compensate for a deficiency but offer additional nutrients for optimal body function and improved health balance.
